Entry FAQs

A. The Highway Awards are open to any individual/team working within a UK Local Authority and/or supporting commercial organisation. This does not exclude organisations outside of the UK but they MUST have worked on a UK-based Highway Maintenance or Traffic Related Industry scheme/product.

A. The categories are judged by leading experts representing all four corners of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In addition, there are also specialist judges for certain categories.

A. The judging criteria for each category of award differs. Specific requirements for each can be found under the Categories menu. Please remember to check you have met each of these criteria. More general information on what the judges are looking for is shown under the How to Enter menu. A key consideration is the quality of the improvements each nomination has made to the UK's Highway Maintenance and Traffic Related Industry.

A. We are all hoping that the UK’s roadmap out of lockdown will continue as planned and there will be no issues with the ceremony taking place at the Royal Lancaster London on 20 October. Should the situation change, we already know that we can run a very successful virtual alternative – so all eventualities will be covered.

A. Absolutely! If you don’t enter, you won’t win. If you are a previous winner, try and win again. Others have. If you have been a previous finalist go for it, and try and win this time round. New to the awards – we wish you beginner’s luck!
